Dance technique – turing and spinning

We would like to present to you the cycle Traditional Dance PL. This is its fourth edition (the first one was in 2013). In the latest edition we have prepared 24 new lessons and dance presentations of dances that used to be widely known and popular in various regions of Poland. We hope that they will appeal to you and help you learn Polish traditional dances in non-stage forms.

In preparing the video lessons, we have based on available archival materials, the knowledge of the traditional dancers and musicians we have met and on our many years of dance practice. As far as possible, we have tried to keep the dances and melodies proposed by us in their traditional style and character. Nevertheless, they may differ from well-known folklore descriptions and registrations as well as from performances currently presented on stages by regional bands or song and dance ensembles.

Why?

It was important for us that they could function anew in our contemporary, everyday life, definitely different from that of a hundred years ago.

In the past people enjoyed themselves to the accompaniment of live music and we encourage them to do so. However, if there was a problem to find it, we have prepared for you for each lesson, a musical mp3 file, so that you can take it with you and use it at any time. The music is available in the link in the description below the lesson.

All the dances created as part of the Taniec Tradycyjny PL project can be viewed on our website: http://tance.edu.pl/pl/lekcje-tanca and on the TaniecTradycyjny.pl You Tube channel: https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCKFo2TIFrMfp0pJmdFBkyng/videos.

Of course we would like to ask you to distribute our videos so that as many people as possible could benefit from them. See you on the dance floor!
