Trojak
Hereby, we present to you the Traditional Dance PL series. This is the fourth edition of the project (the first edition took place in 2013). This time, we offer you 24 new dance lessons and dance presentations that were formerly common and popular in different regions of Poland. We hope that you will enjoy them and that they will help you learn Polish traditional dances in their original forms.
In the process of developing the video lessons for you, we based on the available archive materials, as well as on the knowledge and experience of the traditional dancers and musicians we have worked with. We also made use of the tacit knowledge that we have gained through many years of dance practice. In the process of developing the film lessons, we wanted to make sure that the dances and melodies we present, retain their traditional style and character. Nevertheless, they may differ from the well-known folklore descriptions and registrations and performances currently presented on the stages by regional or song and dance ensembles.
Why?
It was crucial for us that the dances and melodies we propose gain the potential to function in a new way in our contemporary everyday life, which differs from that of a hundred years ago.
In the past, people used to dance to live music and we strongly encourage you to do that too. However, if you do not have access to live music, we have prepared for you mp3 files for each lesson, so that you can take it with you and use it any time you want. The music is available in the link provided in the description under each lesson.
All dances were realized within the Taniec Tradycyjny.pl project are available for viewing at: http://www.tance.edu.pl/pl/lekcje-tanca and on the You Tube channel of Taniec Tradycyjny.pl: https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCKFo2TIFrMfp0pJmdFBkyng/videos .
We kindly encourage you to share our dance lessons with your friends so that many people can benefit from them. We hope to see you soon live, dancing with us!
