The dance was performed on almost all occasions: weddings, folk gatherings and feasts. It was performed by any number of pairs whirling in a circle. Usually, the dance began with one couple, who would stand facing the band and sing a capella: "Muzykanty, zagrejta mi owijoka!" (Musicians, play the owijok for us). When the musicians obliged, gradually, other pairs would joined in the dance, whirling smoothly, without jumps.
